E. E. Tucker, Jr. (1922-2011)
Mr. Tucker spent his entire business career of 45 years in the administration of health and life insurance. His first ten 10 years were in underwriting, claims, and ultimately claims management for Mutual of Omaha. He is a pioneer in the third-party administrator (TPA) industry. Beginning in 1958, Mr. Tucker established a group of TPAs in the health insurance industry across the United States. He founded Tucker Administrators in 1976 that today serves as the keystone of the Tucker Administrators' health risk management operations.
E. E. "Gene" Tucker III
Gene began his insurance career at age 11 working part-time for his father, E. E. Tucker, Jr.. In 1977, he was promoted to President of TEECO, Inc., a Tucker Company subsidiary. He quickly became proficient in stop-loss insurance and had underwriting authority with a number of major reinsurance companies. In addition, he was a broker at Lloyds of London and traveled monthly to London in that capacity. As an innovator in the TPA industry, Gene has combined the resources necessary to deliver cutting-edge health risk management to the employee benefits industry. Gene is a member of the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA) and the Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA). He is on the board of directors of the Third Party Administrators Association of America (TPAAA) as well as several educational and charitable organizations. You can reach Gene at 704-227-3901.
Christine J. Lorenz, CEBS
Christine has a B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University, an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University, and the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation. She started working for Tucker Administrators in 2003, and has over 20 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, including 9 years working in a brokerage firm in North Carolina. She has expertise in regulatory compliance, and handles the company’s communications. Michelle Thomas
Michelle has worked in the claims arena for over 20 years, including 6 years as a manager for a large, regional Preferred Provider Organization in North Carolina. She has worked for Tucker Administrators since 2001. Besides having a thorough knowledge of stop loss claims operations, she has extensive experience in claims system operations, quality control and auditing. Michelle also directs the Tucker Administrators’ claims analysis operations that identifies potential catastrophic claims. Elbert C. Tolson
Working for Tucker Administrators since 1996, Elbert is a graduate of the City College of New York. He has over 30 years of experience with systems analysis and design, data base management, programming and computer operations. He has worked as a senior consultant for two Fortune 500 banking firms, and as IT director for an international manufacturing firm in Japan. Mr. Tolson has a broad base of knowledge of all of our computer systems. He has served on the board of directors for the Charlotte chapter of the Application Systems Forum.
